. . . and De Lijn orders 76 Citeas
Belgian operator, De Lijn, has placed an order with VDL Bus & Coach for 67 Citea SLEs and nine Citea SLFAs. There is a prospect of this order being expanded in early 2016 to include another 121 Citea SLEs together with ten Citeas SLEs for use as driving instruction buses, with a second set of pedals for the instructor. The first new buses will be delivered in early 2016 and will be put in service on various services in Flanders.
Peter Wouters, MD of VDL Bus Roeselare, the factory where the Citeas are being built for De Lijn, said, ‘We are delighted that De Lijn have again put their confidence in us. Following the order for 120 hybrid city buses, this is the second large order that De Lijn have placed with us in less than two years.’
