VDL delivers minibuses to Syntus . . .

VDL Bus & Coach has delivered 35 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter based minibuses to operator, Syntus for service in the Dutch provinces of Overijssel and Gelderland. The vehicles replace older minibuses. These mini buses have an entry door behind the B-pillar, which the manufacturer describes as being unique in the Netherlands. They all have eight passenger seats and are 5.93m long. Syntus, a Keolis subsidiary, provides the public transport in the Veluwe, Gelderland, Midden-Overijssel and Twente. It has 15 locations, around 1,300 employees, 376 buses and nine trains.

. . . and De Lijn orders 76 Citeas

De-Lijn-(1)Belgian operator, De Lijn, has placed an order with VDL Bus & Coach for 67 Citea SLEs and nine Citea SLFAs. There is a prospect of this order being expanded in early 2016 to include another 121 Citea SLEs together with ten Citeas SLEs for use as driving instruction buses, with a second set of pedals for the instructor. The first new buses will be delivered in early 2016 and will be put in service on various services in Flanders.

Peter Wouters, MD of VDL Bus Roeselare, the factory where the Citeas are being built for De Lijn, said, ‘We are delighted that De Lijn have again put their confidence in us. Following the order for 120 hybrid city buses, this is the second large order that De Lijn have placed with us in less than two years.’
