O’Neill to head EVM’s Isuzu drive

As EVM takes on AOS Isuzu’s range of buses and coaches for the UK market, it announces O’Neill as the man heading up the new project, from new premises

EVM has appointed experienced former coach operator and dealer Steve O’Neill to head up its newly-launched AOS Isuzu dealership venture.

Steve, an industry stalwart, brings over 30 years of experience to the role. Starting at 18 as a coach driver with the Kings Ferry Group, he rose quickly through the ranks to become responsible for over 100 staff and 100 coaches as its Managing Director. He eventually oversaw the sale of the company to National Express PLC in 2007. Steve is perhaps best known for setting up Irizar UK and building the brand.

“I’m very excited to be joining EVM UK as the Head of AOS Isuzu (Buses and Coaches). I’ve had a great relationship with Danny and Peter for many years and always admired their approach to the market and their customer-focused approach. Now with the exciting range of buses and coaches from AOS Isuzu, it’s great to join them for their next stage of development,” said Steve.

EVM is celebrating its tenth year in the UK market, with a brand makeover including a fresh new logo and a subtle change to its name and its new premises in West Sussex, EVM UK quickly followed up with the news that they would be representing the AOS Isuzu brand for the UK market. With examples of the Visigo’and Grand Toro model already on the ground being prepared for customers, things have moved quickly for the company.

“Having known Steve for many years and worked with him on several projects, he was a natural choice to join our team and assist in the implementation of the AOS Isuzu brand,” said EVM Managing Director, Danny McGee. “Our focus for the future is to develop the product range for the UK market while delivering excellent customer service.”

EVM UK will initially focus on the Visigo and Grand Toro models with the smaller Citi volt to premier at the show in November. “Initial reviews of the products have been very positive from operators, with orders in place for the majority of the initial stock units,” added Danny. “We are very excited about the range from AOS Isuzu and having Steve on board will add momentum to the rollout.”

EVM will be demonstrating examples of the AOS Isuzu models alongside their range of mini and midi bus at this years Eurobus Expo from the 1st to the 3rd of November on stand A80.
