Irizar i8 Efficient makes world debut

Irizar has launched its i8 Efficient coach to the world in Mexico City.

The new coach is an ‘Efficient’ upgrade of its existing i8 coach, designed to have similar environmental credentials as the manufacturer’s i6S Efficient.

B&CB reported on plans to reveal the new model in coverage from the Busworld event in Brussels last year.

The i8 Efficient is not yet available in Europe. Mexico was chosen for the launch as the country is the biggest market for the i8.

Irizar’s existing i6S Efficient coach has been further upgraded by the addition of a further 5% fuel saving over the up to 13% already achieved by further weight optimisation. It also now sports a new cab layout and dashboard as well as meeting the new GSR and cyber security requirements.

The Irizar i8 Efficient was launched at Mexico’s Expo Foro Movilidad exhibition.
