Higer launches new models
Harris Higer, the Republic of Ireland based distributor for the Higer range of coaches, hosted visitors in a special event last week, showcasing a number of new vehicles.
Around 20 operators attended the Higer ‘soft launch’ event, with two vehicles sold on the day. Held at its extensive facility in Dublin, it gave operators a first look at the new Euro 6 Super 9. The 35-seat vehicle is powered by a Cummins ISB6.7E5 300bhp engine coupled to an Allison T325R automatic gearbox with four-stage retarder.
Group Marketing Manager, Chris Haughton, said: “We gave people that came a form, asking them three things they would want taking out of the coach and three things they would want adding. The best one we had was one saying the only thing he would want to add was fare-paying customers.”
In addition to the Super 9, the new Isuzu Visego was shown. Powered by a Cummins engine coupled with a ZF transmission, the 9m Euro 6 coach has 39 seats as standard and gives the passenger a panoramic view.
Also being presented was the new range of LDV minibuses. Chris said these are the only 3.5tonne minicoach conversions on the market with front entry availability. They are converted by Euro Coach Builders.
Examples of vehicles from its other ranges were shown too. Chris said the event also provided the opportunity for operators to see the extensive parts store it has in support of its aftermarket provision. “We have everything in stock and can have it out to them within 24 hours. We have enough parts in stock here to build two buses.”
Chris said the vehicles are now ready to be ordered, with deliveries expected for the first quarter of 2018. He also mentioned bringing the vehicles to the UK in January for a series of test drives. For more information, visit W higer.ie
