Fire-destroyed heritage bus replaced
National Express West Midlands has finished preparing a replacement for its Walsall heritage bus that was lost in a fire at the end of 2021.
The 14-year-old Scania Omnilink now bears a livery commemorating Walsall Corporation Transport. It replaces the depot’s heritage-liveried 2005 Alexander ALX400-bodied Dennis Trident, which was destroyed in a fire at the operator’s Walsall depot in December last year. No one was injured in the fire, but it did cause damage to a small number of buses.
