Arriva Guildford closure date announced

Last day of operations at Arriva’s Guildford depot will be on 17 December 2021. The news follows the October announcement that the site would be shut. Replacement operators for routes currently running from the facility have been announced.

Arriva’s Service A run from the depot will end on 13 November 2021.

A statement from Arriva said: “We continue to work closely with Surrey County Council, focussing on a smooth transition of bus services being taken over by other bus operators, ensuring minimal impact on customer journeys across Guildford.

“We are signposting customers to Surrey County Council’s web pages (see link below), where customers can find more information and new timetables for the area as and when details are confirmed.”

Safeguard is taking on two services that are currently operated from the Guildford depot, five are to transfer to Stagecoach and Falcon Buses is to take on one.

After plans for the closure were announced, it was reported Falcon Coaches was in talks with Arriva to purchase the site. However, the negotiations drew to a close without a sale being made.
