Falcon Coaches in Arriva Guildford depot takeover talks

Surrey-based Falcon Coaches could takeover Arriva’s Guildford depot.

The two operators are in advanced stages of discussions over the deal, which could see the site switch hands later this year.

The news follows Arriva’s announcement that it proposes to close its Guildford depot and is exploring options, working alongside Surrey County Council, to safeguard services for the local community and to ensure a continuation of services via another operator if possible.

A joint statement from the two operators said: “Discussions between Falcon Coaches and Arriva are on-going. Arriva continues to work closely with its trade union partners and Guildford employees as it looks to safeguard jobs and secure on-going bus services for the local community.”

Falcon Coaches confirms its existing operations at Byfleet will remain unchanged.
