Zeelo acquires Kura
School and workplace transportation specialist Kura has been acquired by commuting solutions business Zeelo.
Despite the acquisition, Sam Ryan, Co-Founder and CEO of Zeelo, said it will be business as usual for Kura customers and operator partners. Current Kura customers are expected to continue receiving the same levels of service from their provider, but should also now benefit from access to new solutions and a combination of resources, technology and expertise made possible by this development. All of Kura’s clients, parents, students and operator partners are to continue to work with their current customer and operations teams and will continue to use the Kura safeguarding technology.
The Kura team brings decades of experience in the UK market and is expected to broaden Zeelo’s product portfolio with a software-as-a-service (SaaS) product for UK schools and a charter booking division to complement its existing technology platform, route-optimisation tools, fast-growing commute business and EV-offering.
The Kura combination is expected to help Zeelo achieve over 100% year-on-year growth, cash-flow profitability and significant opportunities for cross-sell and up-sell through Kura’s expertise and safeguarding technology in the UK schools market, alongside scaling up and digitizing the charter division. The combined businesses is expected to have the ‘largest virtual bus operation in the UK’, with over 220 customers, 450 operator partners and 40,000 daily riders using the platform.
