Yellow Buses drivers’ debts written off

Liquidators of the now defunct Bournemouth-based Yellow Buses have set the record straight concerning reports over drivers’ debts.

A local news outlet reported earlier this week that former Yellow Buses drivers have had debts owed to them written off because they were difficult to trace. The liquidators, Milsted Langton, confirmed to Bus and Coach Buyer that this is not the case. It clarified that the liquidators have written off certain small debts owed by ex-drivers to the operator. These drivers left employment of the company before the administration and under contract would have had to repay training fees.

A statement from Milsted Langton said: “The liquidators have the contact details of those drivers claiming against the company and these will be included in the dividend distribution to unsecured creditors in due course.”

Yellow buses ceased operations in August 2022, with Xelabus taking on Yellow Coaches and National Express acquiring its intercity coaching and engineering operations. The defunct operator’s key bus routes were taken on by Morebus.
