Xelabus acquires Brijan Tours’ services

Xelabus has acquired Brijan Tours’ bus work, including local routes and certain school and college services. The acquisition is being made at the end of August, with all acquired services starting from 7 September 2015. The deal comes at a time when the operator is celebrating its fifth year as a bus company serving the Eastleigh and District community. During the past half decade it has grown from three to 30 buses and licences. In the past 12 months, it has purchased the former Black Velvet bus services, giving Xelabus new routes into Southampton. In the same period, it has invested over £1.3m in newer buses, including Scanias and ADL Enviros, which meet the DDA requirements set for 1 January 2016.

MD of Xelabus, Philip Blair, said, ‘Along with my son, Gareth Blair, who is the Operations Director, we have worked very hard to build the company to the position it is in now. We are both pleased to welcome the Brijan staff and will continue the good work provided by Brijan Tours to serve the many customers they have welcomed aboard over the past years.’
