Wrightbus to demo hydrogen at party conferences
Wrightbus is to showcase the benefits of hydrogen at both Labour and Conservative conferences.
The manufacturer is to demonstrate the capabilities of hydrogen and its part in the UK’s net-zero ambitions with one of its hydrogen buses at both the Conservative and Labour Party conferences.
Both Party Conferences will feature a ‘Hydrogen Zone’, with Wrightbus demonstrating the impact it is making, displaying its StreetDeck Hydroliner.
The Ballymena-based manufacturer cited newly appointed Secretary of State for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy, Jacob Rees-Mogg, who suggested hydrogen, along with other sources of energy, could be used to help strengthen and diversify Britain’s energy system.
“Now more than ever before is the time to showcase the many benefits of hydrogen” – Joerg Hoffman, Chief Executive of Wrightbus
Joerg Hoffman, Chief Executive of Wrightbus, said: “We are very much looking forward to hearing what both Labour and Conservative politicians have to say in the coming days with regards to the role hydrogen will play in strengthening and expanding the UK’s energy sector. Now more than ever before is the time to showcase the many benefits of hydrogen.
“The availability of sufficient hydrogen is a key for success and therefore we need politicians to support additional hydrogen production facilities in the UK – that is vital.”
The Labour party conference is taking place in Liverpool until Thursday (28 September), while the Conservative party conference will head to Birmingham on 2-5 October.
