Wilko staff targeted in Adventure Travel recruitment drive

Following the announcement that Wilko has gone into administration, Adventure Travel has driven up its recruitment campaign to create job opportunities for the high street retailer’s staff.

Wilko entering administration puts more than 12,000 jobs at risk across the country, including HGV and delivery drivers. Today it officially went into administration after failing to find emergency investment.

South Wales-based Adventure Travel operates many bus routes across the region with its fleet of over 165 vehicles, including more than 45 school buses and a number of privately hired coaches. It is currently recruiting for drivers with a host of jobs available across South Wales, involving various flexible working patterns.

Adam Keen, Managing Director at Adventure Travel, said: “It’s a real shame to see the collapse of such a large retailer in Wales, especially with so many jobs now at risk. With some branches already confirmed to be closing, including Merthyr Tydfil and Llanelli, and mounting job uncertainty, we’re inviting Wilko staff to talk to us about our vacancies. Openings within the company primarily include PCV drivers – which offers a significant joining bonus of £1,250 for new employees – and trainee positions which allow successful candidates to earn a wage while they learn, with a guaranteed job and increase in salary once all training is complete. A number of family-friendly shift patterns are on offer.
