Wider Scania Fencer range previewed
After a dramatic premiere event that saw Scania show off its Fencer f1 single-decker from its new Fencer series, the manufacturer has now previewed the rest of the range.
Scania has released an image of a line up of digital renders of its new offering. The image shows three single-deckers, a double-decker and a coach.
Scania’s engineers developed the Fencer range in partnership with Chinese bus and coach builder Higer, who it has worked in partnership with for 15 years. The collaboration sees Higer contributing with knowledge and expertise regarding bodywork, while Scania contributes with chassis and experience of international customers’ requirements. Together with Higer, Scania’s designer team has given the vehicles what the Swedish company describes as a ‘clear Scania expression’.
The Fencer range of city buses are intended to cover all versions: low-floor, low-entry, two-axle, tri-axle, articulated buses and double-deckers. It is developed, designed and constructed by Scania and built at Scania’s own bus lines at Higer’s Suzhou factory.
“Working with the people in Higer has been an absolute pleasure and we are really excited to bring this bus to the market with them.” – Martin West, Sales Director, Buses and Coaches in Scania Great Britain
