West Berkshire Easter ticketing offer meets with success
An Easter bank holiday ticketing promotion has been hailed a success by Reading Buses.
More than 6,000 tickets were taken up in a free travel offer provided by West Berkshire Council in conjunction with Reading Buses.
A total of 6,008 tickets were issued over the four days of the Easter bank holiday and 2,440 passengers travelled on Reading Buses-owned Newbury & District routes that have previously not operated on bank holidays.
An additional service was provided for routes 1a/1c, 2, 8 and 9 in the Newbury area on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
After the success of this Easter initiative following the initial trial at Christmas, Reading Buses, Newbury & District, Thames Travel and West Berkshire Council have announced a similar travel offer will be available over the four-day Jubilee bank holiday in June.
