Volvo has first electric order with Arriva London
Volvo Buses has landed its first all-electric order with Arriva London. It will see 51 Volvo BZL Electric double-deckers join the operator’s Tottenham garage.
The vehicles are for use on the operator’s newly contracted 341 and 243 routes across Tottenham. Deliveries are expected to commence in 2025.
Each of the new 10.9m BZLs will be bodied by MCV to TfL specifications. Features include high-back seats, USB charging points and glass skylights on the upper deck create a lighter, brighter interior. The new buses will be powered by Volvo’s 200kW electric driveline, featuring an electric motor paired with a two-stage automated gearbox. Each bus is equipped with five lithium-ion batteries, providing a total of 470kW/h of onboard energy storage.
