Volvo expands MCV eVoTor range with 57-seat option
Volvo Buses is to bring a 57-seater coach into the UK and Irish markets with the expansion of its recently launched 12.6m Volvo B8R MCV eVoTor range. Launched in late-2023 and featuring 53 seats and a toilet, which can be removed to allow for 55 seats, the new fully seated variant is available to order immediately, with deliveries to commence from May 2025.
It will be built on the same B8R eight-litre chassis, which is envisioned to give fleets a greater choice of seating configurations to cope with higher capacity applications.
“Now we’re set to bridge further gaps in the domestic coach market whilst introducing a competitively priced vehicle offering a superior level of comfort and safety” – Domenico Bondi, Managing Director of Volvo Bus UK & Ireland
Domenico Bondi, Managing Director of Volvo Bus UK & Ireland, said: “The B8R – MCV eVoTor was designed as a reliable and cost-effective workhorse for an array of different applications, and it’s been quickly finding favour with fleets. Now we’re set to bridge further gaps in the domestic coach market whilst introducing a competitively priced vehicle offering a superior level of comfort and safety.
“We had customers asking us about the potential for 57-seats soon after launch. Following a series of meetings with our partners at MCV, we’re really excited to be expanding the range.”
