VIDEO: Roadshow considers better cab design
A roadshow into how to make the driver’s cab in a bus more inclusive continues to drive forward.
The Women in Bus and Coach and Transport for London Inclusive Bus Cab Design national roadshow has to date visited eight garages: four in London, two in Scotland and two in the north west, with more planned for the coming months.
Researchers from the Transport research lab (TRL) have now met with over 75 professional women bus drivers at these garages to gather feedback to improve the comfort and functionality of cab designs, with the view to make future bus cabs more inclusive.
The video features bus drivers from Transport UK London Bus Camberwell Garage, McGill’s Bus Group Johnstone Garage, Lothian Buses Edinburgh Garage, First Bus Rochdale Garage and Stagecoach Bus Manchester Garage who explain how current bus cabs could be improved.
