Unite considering Go North East pay offer
After over a month of strike action at Go North East, members of trade union Unite are now considering a new pay offer from the operator. Go-Ahead Group, the parent company of Go North East, has confirmed it has made a new offer.
Unite national lead officer, Onay Kasab, said: “Unite can confirm that we have received a new offer from Go North East following talks. This offer now will be put to our members for a ballot.”
Unite told B&CB it will not be commenting further on this offer until the ballot result is known.
Strikes are set to continue during the ballot.
B&CB understands the offer will see a 10.5% pay rise back dated to July 2023. This will be followed by an 11.2% pay rise in January 2024, which is due to rise again with RPI in July next year (subject to a minimum of 4%).
