UK Coach Rally revving up for 2024
Preparations for this year’s UK Coach Rally on 13 and 14 April are well underway.
The organisers, Coach Displays, have told B&CB that well over half of spaces for vehicle entries to the 68th edition of the Rally have already been taken. Taking place at the Comedy Carpet in Blackpool, a maximum of 55 coaches can participate. Forms for more entrants are heavily anticipated, so the organisers are urging operators to make their entries as soon as possible.
On the Saturday morning of the Rally, a 50-mile route through the Lancashire countryside is planned. This is to be followed by the usual series of coach driving challenges. During the evening of the Saturday, the traditional Dinner Dance is to be held in The Imperial Hotel in Blackpool. The Sunday is to see coach entries judged in the morning, followed by driving tests for the finalists. The day will be topped by the presentation of awards in the afternoon.
As well as the participating coaches, trade exhibitors are also due to attend. Among them will be IlesBus, Pelican Bus and Coach and MAN, with the organisers stating even more have promised to display.
