UK Coach Awards to skip 2021
With the industry beset by the effects of Covid-19, the organisers of the UK Coach Awards have decided to cancel the 2021 edition of the event.
A statement from the organisers said: “As you know, back in April this year, we reluctantly took the decision to cancel the 2020 UK Coach Awards.
“Since then our businesses, colleagues, and friends, have continued to face unprecedented challenges that have severely affected the industry. Unfortunately, as we head into the final quarter of 2020 the future is still uncertain, and we feel it would be unfitting and inappropriate to open nominations for the 2021 scheme.
“We have instead decided to review our normal processes and look at an alternative way to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contributions and actions that we are witnessing during these extremely difficult times.
“The industry’s passion, creativity, determination and resilience is still being demonstrated at every opportunity, and we want to make sure that the UK Coach Awards are able to help share and reward these amazing achievements.
“We will keep you updated on the new plans and any developments. In the meantime, we send you all our very best wishes, and we remain steadfast in our support of the whole industry.”
The team behind the awards believes the uncertainty caused by the pandemic is giving little cause for celebration and holding its usual competition would be inappropriate.
However, it is still keen to pursue alternative means of support of the phenomenal efforts of individuals, companies and the industry as a whole in 2020. It is currently searching for another way to celebrate the industry’s achievements and efforts. In light of this, stories that operators would like to share are being sought on social media @UKCoachAwards or via e-mail ([email protected]).
