UK Bus Awards underway
Entries are now being sought for the 2014 UK Bus Awards. The competition consists of 20 awards. This year’s event will see a number of changes, including the renaming of the Eureka! Award to the Marketing Initiative of the Year Award and the Marketing Excellence Award becoming the Award for Sustained Marketing Excellence. Furthermore, there will not be a competition this year in The Bus and the Community category. A new Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards category scheme will be implemented.
UK Bus Awards Chairman, Tony Depledge, said, ‘We are excited to be entering the 19th year for the awards. Over the years, we have seen impressive change within the industry, with major innovation and real passion driving operating standards and marketing initiatives to new heights – as reflected in the recent results of the Passenger Focus survey. The increasing quality of entries over recent years has made judging a real challenge, but it’s one we relish because it is all contributing to making using the bus a real alternative to using a car.’
Nomination forms can be obtained via www.ukbusawards.org.uk, where details of categories and criteria will also be found. The closing date is 6 June. Judging will take place in July and August, with the shortlist announced on 9 October. The awards ceremony will take place on 18 November.
