UK Bus Awards cancelled

The UK Bus Awards has been cancelled for 2020, but is set to run again in 2021. The only independent awards, the UKBA is the sister event of the UK Coach Awards, also cancelled for 2020.

“We recently sought the views of all our Sponsors, Patrons and other Stakeholders about holding our usual annual Industry Awards,” said Director, Steve Cresswell. “Thank you to all those who assisted with views and suggestions. When put these alongside our own views on the situation, there was a large degree of like thinking regarding the appropriateness of having our usual event.”

The event usually stages its final in London November, the UK Coach Awards presentation in spring in Blackpool. Entries for the UK Coach Awards are being carried over to next year, with entrants getting the opportunity to update them.

“Our industry has always been resilient and resourceful, and we know that this is down to the extraordinary people that work within it,” said Steve. “Every day we are witnessing the incredible efforts our colleagues and their organisations are going to, in order to keep the country moving. We would like to take this opportunity to extend our thanks to each and every one of our industry’s key workers.

“As you know the UK Bus Awards recognises and rewards outstanding achievements, and at this time this has never been more poignant. We are certain that the Awards in November 2021 will be a remarkable celebration of how our industry, and our people, came together to successfully keep the country moving in its time of need.

“We will keep you posted on any news and updates, and we look forward to seeing you all in 2021.”
