Transport UK London Bus wins more routes

Transport UK London Bus (formerly Abellio) has mobilised the contract for routes 133 and N133. It now operates these routes on behalf of TfL. With the addition of these busy Central and South London routes, Transport UK London Bus now operates nearly 11% of the TfL bus network, serving customers across London.

The 133/N133 will operate from Transport UK London Bus’s Battersea depot, with the 133 running between Streatham Station and Holborn. The N133 route operates between Streatham Station and Liverpool Street Station.

The routes have been mobilised using existing hybrid and EV fleet, including Wrightbus Electroliners, ADL Enviro400 EVs and New Routemasters. By Summer 2024, the 133/N133 will operate a full EV fleet, utilising the Battersea depot’s extensive charging infrastructure.

Transport UK London Bus’s Battersea depot underwent a significant energisation infrastructure upgrade in 2023 as part of a business-wide investment in EV that is seeing all six London depots enabled for EV routes.

The business is committed to TfL’s Bus Action Plan and providing customers with cleaner, safer, and more comfortable journeys. Since launching the first fully EV route in 2020, Transport UK London Bus has totalled over 8 million zero-emission miles.

Alastair Willis, Head of Commercial, Transport UK London Bus, said: “We are delighted to mobilise the new contract on route 133 and N133 on behalf of Transport for London and bring further new electric vehicles to our fleet for this route. We’re proud to serve customers on this busy London route.”
