TJ Walsh closes

Halifax-based TJ Walsh has been reported to have closed due to difficulties arising through the spread of COVID-19.

The operator is unable to support staff during a temporary closure through the coronavirus outbreak, according to reports. It does not have the cash reserves required for this due to passenger numbers declining dramatically since the pandemic.

Owner, Neil Walsh, is to approach supermarkets in an effort to find alternative employment for his staff.

The development draws to an end over 35 years of transport history for the business. The company began in 1983 with a single minibus providing contract hire work. Its first public minibus service was started in 1987. this was followed in 1994 with its first public bus service, seeing it commence a route between Halifax and Ovenden Way. Over the years, more bus services were added.
