The Stonehenge Tour set to go
Tour to have altered timetable in light of expected lack of overseas tourists
Go-Ahead Group-owned Salisbury Reds is to start The Stonehenge Tour bus service from 12 April.
The tour runs from Salisbury Rail Station and the city centre through to the historic site. It will be split into three coming seasons and will run to a changed timetable, to coincide with English Heritage opening times and the predicted absence of overseas visitors.
“We are expecting many people in the UK to plan staycations this year” – Salisbury Reds head of communications, Nikki Honer
Salisbury Reds head of communications, Nikki Honer, said: “We have been running buses for essential travel continuously throughout the pandemic but now we are ready and excited to be welcoming tourism back to this spectacular county.
“We are expecting many people in the UK to plan staycations this year and a city break to Salisbury may be on the cards. The Stonehenge Tour bus not only serves Stonehenge. On the way back day, trippers are encouraged to get off and explore the historical sites at Old Sarum as well. We plan to run to our pre-Covid Spring/Autumn timetable from 12 April – and for an hourly service to operate throughout the Summer.”
