Switch to deliver Metrocitys to Tower Transit
Switch Mobility is to supply a fleet of 12 Metrocity E-Buses to Tower Transit.
The fleet of Metrocitys will be deployed on Route 339, operating out of Lea Interchange and running between Shadwell and Leytonstone. Route 339 will be the first full EV Route run out of Lea Interchange.
Combining a 250kwh NMC battery with a lightweight monocoque platform, the Metrocity provides range of up to 180 miles with a charging time of below three hours. Tower Transit will be the first customer for the updated 9.4m Metrocity. Delivery of the vehicles is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2023. This contract further reinforces Switch’s position as a global technology leader, providing net-zero carbon commercial mobility products and solutions that create outstanding value for all stakeholders.
