Suspension of industrial action welcomed

TfL has welcomed news that a strike planned for 22 September by members of the Unite union, who work for London United, has been suspended, following talks at ACAS. Two 24-hour strikes were due to take place on 19 September and 22 September. The planned strike action would have affected bus routes in south west London.

TfL’s MD of Surface Transport, Leon Daniels, said, ‘This is good news for our bus passengers in south west London who will not experience unnecessary disruptions to their journeys. The pay and conditions of bus drivers is a matter for Unite and London United to discuss and we urge them to continue to use constructive dialogue as they seek a resolution to this dispute.’
