Students to design National Express buses

National Express Dundee is asking students from Dundee and Angus College to come up with a new look for its buses. The operator launched the design partnership with a visit to its East Dock Street depot by 17 young people from the college’s Computing and Creative Media courses. As part of the company’s aim to transform bus travel in the city, it is planning a fresh livery and a new name, which will be designed by the students. The best of their ideas will be shortlisted by staff from National Express Dundee and then the final designs will be put to the vote so that the general public can choose the way they think Dundee’s buses should look and what the local company should be called.

MD of National Express Dundee, Elsie Turbyne, said, ‘It’s great to be working again with the students from Dundee and Angus College and I’m sure they will deliver some really innovative new ideas for our bus fleet. These young people are part of the creative lifeblood of the city and it makes perfect sense to harness their talent as we plan a new direction for the city’s biggest public transport provider.’
