Stagecoach’s Martin Gibbon becomes CPT Cymru Chair

Martin Gibbon, Managing Director of Stagecoach South Wales, has been appointed as the Chair of the Confederation of Passenger Transport Cymru’s Bus Commission.

In this role, Martin will oversee CPT’s key policy decision-making body on bus issues in Wales and work with CPT Cymru’s team to keep the voice of bus operators at the forefront of key debates.

Martin has a wealth of experience in the transport sector, starting his career with Stagecoach on the graduate scheme. Since joining Stagecoach in 2011, he has held a number of roles including as Operations Director for West and Oxford and his most recent appointment as Managing Director for Wales.

A key part of Martin’s role is working with local stakeholders across the South Wales region. He is responsible for a team of around 850 employees and over 100 vital express and local bus services connecting communities across the South Wales region.

Martin Gibbon said: “CPT is the leading trade association for the bus and coach sector, providing specialist political, operational and policy advice to members when they need it most and I’m delighted to take up the role of Chair for the CPT Cymru Bus Commission.
