Stagecoach takes on JPT services

Stagecoach Manchester has taken on the services of Middleton based JP Travel, which has ceased operating. JPT Bus Company was founded in 1974 by Janet and Peter Walsh. It operated in a yellow and blue livery with a fleet of 42 buses.

There will be some changes to the buses, passenger information and ticket range, as it becomes part of the Stagecoach Manchester operation. All services will continue to run at the same times and on the same routes using Stagecoach buses. As part of the Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) contract process, Stagecoach is no longer operating the 164 and 165 Monday to Saturday evening service. There will be some changes to fares and tickets. JP Travel Monthly, Weekly and Day Tickets will now be sold as Middleton Day and Weekly Middletonrider tickets. Middleton Dayrider has been reduced to £2 (a promotional price for a limited period) and the Middletonrider 7 days will remain unchanged at £9.
