South East Bus Fest postponed

As a result of the ongoing coronavirus restrictions that will be effective in April, the decision has been taken to postpone the 2021 South East Bus Festival and the Kent County Agricultural Society’s Heritage Transport Show, of which it is a part, until later in the year.

Originally scheduled to be held at Kent Showground on 10 April, the organisers will review the situation in the Spring, by which time there should be further information about the effectiveness of the vaccination programme and also an indication of how lives may be starting to move back to some sort of normality with the early stages of the easing of the restrictions.

Co-organiser, Richard Lewis, said: “After the disappointment of having to cancel last year’s event, we were hopeful that we could go ahead with the 2021 bus festival in April, but clearly the ongoing restrictions will not allow that.

“By waiting for a few more weeks to see how the situation progresses we expect to be able to fix a new date for later in the year which will allow us to guarantee going ahead and, by which time, we should all be much more free to move around the country and attend the events which so many people have been longing for.

“This will be our tenth event and while we had expected to celebrate that milestone in 2020, we are excited by the hope that we will be able to do so later in 2021.”
