An industry competition testing the skills of bus and coach technicians from across the UK is entering its 13th edition this year.
The Institute of Road Transport Engineers’ (IRTE’s) Bus & Coach Skills Challenge returns for 2025.
From apprentices to seasoned professionals, the competition welcomes all levels of experience, providing an arena for learning, growth, and recognition. This year’s challenge aims to engage both individual engineers and bus and coach operators. For engineers, the event is designed to offer an exceptional opportunity to:
- Showcase their skills on a national platform
- Connect with industry peers and leaders
- Earn recognition for their expertise
- Advance their professional development
For bus and coach operators, the benefits are listed as:
- Benchmark their team’s skills against industry standards
- Identify areas for training and improvement
- Boost team morale and pride
- Demonstrate commitment to excellence in maintenance and safety
The IRTE reports interest in this year’s challenge is already high, with both returning competitors and newcomers eager to participate. The organisation is inviting all eligible engineers, technicians and operators to be part of an event that celebrates excellence in the bus and coach industry.
