Sheffield Bus Partnership’s local government award

Sheffield Bus Partnership has won the ‘Most Innovative Service Delivery Model’ in the Local Government Chronicle (LGC) Awards. It was presented with the accolade in recognition of its efforts to make travel in the city more simple, flexible and convenient. The Awards celebrate best practice, excellence and innovation across the UK’s local authorities. Sheffield Bus Partnership triumphed over eight other organisations shortlisted in the ‘Most Innovative Service Delivery Model’ category. The partnership consists of First South Yorkshire, Stagecoach in Sheffield, Sheffield Community Transport, Sheffield City Council and South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE). It was launched in October 2012.

LGC Awards judges, said, ‘It is clear the project is achieving its objectives and delivering real results. The scale of these, impacting on over 50,000 households bringing cheaper fares, improved service reliability and improved customer satisfaction, along with the challenges the partnership had overcome, saw this entry stand out from the others.’
