School Transport Safety Conference
BUSK is to hold the School Transport Safety Conference 2015, which is aimed at anyone with a responsibility to make or approve transport arrangements for others. Day one concerns school trips in the UK and abroad and is to be chaired by CPT’s South West Regional Manager, John Burch. Day two is on home to school transport and is chaired by Trevor Roberts, former MD of Newport Transport and Blackpool Transport. The third day covers several topics, including bullying on the school run (of pupils and some drivers), state aid and Section 19 Permits, the role of a TM and brokers/travel management companies. Attending will be Traffic Commissioner, Sarah Bell and a television presenter and journalist who will explain the risk adverse media exposure can present to a business, local authority or school and give advice in how to react when things go wrong.
School Transport Safety Conference 2015 takes place at Lydiard House in Swindon (SN5 3PA) from 14 to 16 October. All inclusive day delegate rate with lunch is £175 plus VAT. All-inclusive 24 hour rate with overnight stay, breakfast, lunch and dinner is £249 plus VAT. 36 rooms have been allocated for delegate use on a first come, first served basis.
