Scania unveils new service centre

Scania GB’s latest sales and service centre, located at Eurocentral in Scotland, is officially open.

The £10m investment occupies a 7.8acre plot and contains a fully operational workshop and parts department, with office accommodation and extensive secure parking. The building was recently used as a venue to host Scania’s Net Zero Conference, organised in the backdrop of COP26, where the company spoke about its sustainable agenda and plans for supporting decarbonisation.

The building is completely fossil free and boasts a range of sustainable features including a high-efficiency underfloor air-source heating system, sustainable drainage and environmental containment in accordance with local regulations, water recycling in its vehicle wash, LED lighting throughout and roof-mounted energy-generating photovoltaic panels.

The previous workshop at Bellshill has now closed and all employees have moved across to this new location.

James Armstrong, Managing Director for Scania GB, said: “We are extremely proud to open Eurocentral.  Scania has a clear vision to reduce its carbon footprint and by opening buildings of this kind with an array of sustainable features, it really shows how we are moving in the right direction.  It’s an extremely impressive building and will offer employees and customers a fantastic experience.”
