Scania Irizar for Silverdale

Silverdale Tours has taken delivery of a Scania Irizar i6. The coach’s Scania K360 IB4x2 chassis has a 360hp engine matched to a fully automated version of the Scania Opticruise gear selection system. Specifications include 53 seats, a full climate control system, a DVD player with two monitors, a centre sunken toilet, a drinks machine and Durabright alloy wheels.
Silverdale Director, Shaun Doherty, said, ‘This is our first new touring Scania since 1987. We have operated them more recently as National Express vehicles and have always been pleased with their performance. We have heard great things from other operators about the Scania Irizar combination, so thought we would purchase one for our private hire fleet. It is very early days but the response from both drivers and passengers is very good.’
