Road investment key to driving growth, MPs told at RHA event
MPS have been informed of the importance of investing in roads at an RHA event.
More than 200 guests attended the RHA’s Parliamentary Reception at the Palace of Westminster on 21 January. Operators were joined by parliamentarians, trade associations and other key stakeholders as the Association launched its vision for roads investment which it says would help the Government deliver on its mission to grow the economy.
Moreton Cullimore, RHA Chairperson said in his keynote speech: “A serious plan for economic growth needs to include a plan for growth in our road infrastructure.”
Lilian Greenwood, Future of Roads Minister said the Government is committed to improving roads and infrastructure to drive growth. She thanked the RHA for its work on improving facilities and said the industry needs to attract more people.
Bill Esterson MP, Energy Security and Net Zero Committee Chair – and former shadow roads minister – paid tribute to the sector and said the people in the industry play a vital role in keep the country going.
