Restored buses to London Transport Museum
Mike Sutcliffe MBE has come to an agreement which will see three of his restored Leyland vintage buses acquired by London Transport Museum over a period of three years. This will assure the long term future of the buses, a 1908 London Central X2 double decker; a 1914 ‘Torpedo’ charabanc and the Chocolate Express LB5 with 48-seater body by Christopher Dodson from 1924. All three have been the Outright Concours d’Elegance winners of the London-Brighton Run.
Director of the LT Museum, Sam Mullins, said, ‘This is the most significant single acquisition we have ever made and I’m personally delighted to add these outstanding and well provenanced vehicles to the Museum’s collection.’
