Reading wins CILT award

Reading Buses has won the Passenger Transport Award at the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Awards.

The awards event was held last night (19 September 2024) at De Vere Beaumont in Windsor. Also shortlisted for the accolade was Greater Anglia and Blackpool Transport.

The nomination highlighted its work in revolutionising the way people pay for travel in Reading; from their early adoption of mobile and contactless ticketing to their latest step in ticketing introduced in November 2023; tap on, tap off which automatically works out the best fare for customers as they travel throughout the day. The operator also highlighted its success in recruiting new drivers, as well as the continued success of is partnerships with local authorities. It also showcased its ongoing commitment and investment in improving its fleet including the introduction of seven new buses for the London Line 702 and Flightline 703 routes.

Chief Executive Officer Robert Williams, said: “This award is a fantastic endorsement of the work put in by our team to provide the best possible service for the residents of Reading and wider Thames Valley area”.
