PSVAR-spec’ Midi Explorer from BASE

BASE Coach Sales is launching a PSVAR-specification Midi Explorer.

The new model has a wheelchair lift positioned between the axles, which means the luggage space in the rear boot can be maintained while achieving 35-seats plus driver and courier capacity with a wheelchair-lift fitted. The first vehicle to this design, built for KB Coaches in Gloucestershire, has been built to accommodate up to four wheelchairs. BASE is also retro-fitting earlier Midi Explorers to this specification.

Andy Francis from KB Coaches said: “The Midi Explorer is my eleventh MOBIpeople since 2015, the quality of the product and the aftermarket support I receive from BASE is second to none. I just hope I have some work in the diary by the time it’s registered in September.”

Nick Dodgson, General Manager from BASE, said: “We are always looking to improve the specifications that we are offering with MOBIpeople, with more customers looking to operate PSVAR compliant vehicles in their fleets, we think this is a significant improvement in design, that allows the vehicle to be operated to a PSVAR specification, without any real compromise to the vehicle in it’s original use as a 35 seat Midi coach.”

All MOBIpeople models are available to a PSVAR specification, from 29 to 74 seating capacity.
