Partnership consults public

In a public consultation, Sheffield Bus Partnership is giving people the opportunity to comment on proposals for changes to a number of the city’s bus services. They have until 23 August to reply. Routes the organisation is particularly interested in opinions on and most likely to be affected by the proposed changes are 11/12, 13/13A, 17, 17A, 20/20A, 25, 35-37, 57, 66, 66A, 81, 82, 85, M92 , 95, 123 and SL1. The changes include route and timetable alterations, with some services re-routed to or from Sheffield Interchange. Minor changes and timing amendments to improve punctuality are planned for some other services. A number of the proposed service changes are also necessary as a result of plans to move Sheffield Market from Castle Street to The Moor.

Sheffield Bus Partnership was launched in October 2012 following a public consultation. It pledged to conduct a review after a year. The proposed changes take into account customer feedback it has received during the past nine months. It consists of Stagecoach in Sheffield, First South Yorkshire, Sheffield Community Transport, Sheffield City Council and South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE).

Stagecoach Yorkshire MD, Paul Lynch, said, ‘The Sheffield Bus Partnership has been a tremendous success since launching in October last year. What we are keen to do now is build on this by giving customers the opportunity to have their say on a number of routes within the partnership. Passenger feedback is extremely important and we are keen to hear from as many people as possible so we can use their comments and suggestions to shape the network for the future so it best meets the needs of Sheffield people.’
