‘Park Mark’ for Park & Ride sites

South Yorkshire PTE (SYPTE) hopes the recent retention of the police’s ‘Park Mark’ sign of quality for 13 of the region’s park and ride sites will reassure potential customers of the facilities. Adwick, Bentley, Doncaster North, Doncaster South, Elsecar, Meadowhall, Halfway, Malin Bridge, Middlewood, Nunnery, Swinton and White Rose Way Park and Rides have been recognised as examples of excellent parking design and have won the right to display the ‘Park Mark’ sign of quality for the next 12 months. The British Parking Association, on behalf of South Yorkshire Police, assessed the car parks and judged that all had measures in place to deter potential criminal activity and create a safer environment for both the public and their vehicles. Amongst the criteria are that the car parks are properly managed, maintained and have appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage and cleanliness.
