Otokar Malta delivery complete

Otokar Europe has completed a delivery of 62 buses to Malta, bringing the total of new midibuses on the island from the brand up to 142. They are all Vectio C RHDs and are operated by Malta Public Transport. The buses are being used to increase the overall performance of the island’s bus network, helping it deal with the busy summer period, when the fleet covers an additional 23,000km a week.

The 9.6m Vectio C RHD is specifically developed for the Maltese road conditions. It is designed to be simple and functional with a low entry structure, double flap inward swinging doors at the front with wheelchair ramp and a single flap central door. The state-of-the-art integral structure is intended to be durable and lightweight. Features include 25 seats, a surveillance system and an efficient air conditioning system able to deal with the island’s hot summers. Power comes from a Cummins ISB6.7 Euro6 engine matched to an Allison T280R automatic transmission.
