Optare wins Air Quality award

Optare has won the Passenger Transport Air Quality award at a ceremony held at Bristol’s Grand Hotel recently. The Awards seek to give value and recognition to those who make special efforts to boost air quality, whether in the public, private or charity sector. They are supported by the Institute of Air Quality Management (IAQM) and the British Lung Foundation is the charity partner. This follows a double accolade in September by the LowCVP for Heavy Duty Vehicle Manufacturer of the Year and Outstanding Achievement in Low Carbon Transport.
Commercial Director, Optare, Robert Drewery, said, ‘I am delighted that our electric buses have won another prestigious industry award. This is testament to our continued development and promotion of the uptake of electric vehicles. Optare is committed to embracing the environment by working alongside the, DfT, SMMT, TfL, LowCVP, operators and local authorities to ensure sustained successful operation of greener buses.’
