OBITUARY – Steph Baker

Switch Mobility has announced the passing of Steph Baker, its Regional Sales Manager, on 27 March.

“Steph’s departure has left a profound void in our organisation and the wider bus industry community in the UK. With an illustrious career spanning over two decades, Steph was closely associated with the Optare brand since 2003, before its transition to Switch Mobility. Her unwavering dedication made her a highly respected figure among bus operators throughout the UK,” said Patrick Brennan, Commercial Manager, at Switch Mobility.

“Steph was a pioneer in her chosen career. She was a woman in a gritty industry but despite her challenges she gained admiration and affection from all those she worked with for her drive, knowledge, professionalism, friendship and care for both her colleagues and customers. She mingled with everyone from bus mechanics, drivers and factory works to company directors, politicians and bus company owners. Steph was always focused, eager to learn and pick up new skills and had a real passion for what she did which resulted in hundreds of bus sales. We will be forever in her debt,” said Patrick.

Switch Mobility extended its deepest condolences to Steph’s family, friends, and colleagues.
