Nexus takes back Metro

Nexus has resumed direct operation of services on the Tyne and Wear Metro. The operator DB Regio, part of the Arriva Group, which had run services on behalf of Nexus since April 2010, came to the end of its operating contract at 02.00 on 1 April 2017. Nexus, the public body which delivers transport services for the North East Combined Authority, will be directly responsible for Metro operations until at least 2019.
