Newport FlixBus driver braves the shave

Charlotte ‘Charley’ Eaton, one of Newport Transport’s drivers on its Swansea to London FlixBus services, is to shave her hair off for charity.

On 29 February, the official McMillan Cancer Support ‘Brave the Shave’ day, Charlotte is to chop her luscious locks off and donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust. This organisation provides wigs for children battling cancer and living with alopecia.

Charlotte said: “I’ve been extremely impressed by my colleagues and their generosity, it’s great to know that I work within such an amazing team that will rally together for a good cause.”

Charley is also raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Morgan Stevens, Operations Director at Newport Transport, said: “As a company with a track record of helping people in need, Newport Transport is pleased to support Charley in her mission. We strongly believe in the power of working as a team. This initiative is a fantastic way to celebrate the new FlixBus team as an expanding part of our business.

“If you’re able to donate, whether it’s to support the Little Princess Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support, or both, we thank you for rallying behind our driver, reinforcing our collective commitment to making a positive impact in our community and beyond.”

Charley currently drives coaches on the FlixBus UK network, which is due to grow later in 2024.

Senior Operations Manager at FlixBus, Craig Coker, said: “We’re really proud of Charley, and drivers like her, who are fantastic role models in their community. She’s an inspiration and we hope to see more generous, passionate people like her driving on our coach network as we grow this year!”
