New Wembley coach park opens
Europe’s biggest coach park now ready for action.
Said to be Europe’s biggest coach parking facility, the site boasts 290 spaces for coaches. The Pink Parking has CCTV, lane controls and 24-hour manning. The purpose-built multi-storey coach parking complex is thought to be the first of its kind. It offers a wide range of facilities, which includes London Designer Outlet, Boxpark Wembley and a range of hotels surrounding Wembley Park for overnight stays for coach drivers.
Huber, the German car park design and build specialist was awarded a £41m contract to work alongside O’Keefe to deliver the project and act as the project manager and principle designer.
Parking at the site during Stadium event days is £90, while SSE Arena Wembley event days are £31.50 and non-event days are £20 daytime and £40 overnight. The Stadium attracts more than two million visitors a year to some of the biggest events in sport, music and entertainment.
The opening comes just after National Express renewed its partnership as the ‘Official Coach Supplier to Wembley Stadium’ for a three-year period, until 2023. The agreement will provide dedicated National Express services from over 50 locations across the UK direct to all major events at Wembley Stadium, including Emirates FA Cup semi-finals and final, EFL play-offs, England International fixtures and shows from some of the biggest music acts in the world. All Wembley services will arrive straight into the official coach park close to the stadium entrance and are scheduled to not leave until after an event has finished, even if it runs over. Both Wembley Stadium and National Express will be offering travel tickets and combined travel and event packages to major events across web, mobile and all other sales channels.
