New Volvo B13R SC7 to launch this year

Volvo Buses is to get Sunsundegui’s new SC7 ‘New Generation’ coach, built on the premium B13R chassis.

Production of SC7 NG has already begun in Spain, with right-hand drive versions of the significantly face-lifted coach likely to be available to order later this year. Sunsundegui has worked on the coach’s fuel economy, exterior styling and interior to update the SC7, the Volvo B13R contributing to fuel savings, which Sunsundegui says will be around 6% over the previous model.

Among improvements are a more spacious passenger door, optimised with the courier seat tucked back. Interior mouldings are updated throughout. The coach gets LED headlamps and a new, more ergonomic dashboard with multifunction LCD touchscreen. Luggage capacity is, says Sunsundegui, the best in class.

The saloon has been reworked to include new, high-tech passenger service units, and new luggage racks.
